♡REVIEW: Soap and Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara♡

Soap and Glory, is in my opinion, quite an underrated brand. I've tried out a few of their products over the past few months and have yet to be disappointed. So when it was time to buy a new mascara, I was excited to see that this one was recommended to me by a few of you on twitter. At £10.50, my first thought was that it was a bit pricey for a 10ml mascara, considering their "show good face" foundation/primer is £11 for a 30ml tube. But none the less, I needed a new mascara so bought it anyway!

Soap and Glory boast that their "7-SIDED FAN FLARE-180™ brush with a V-groove" lays down volume & intensity, and a "network of combing & curling surfaces give length, definition and DRAMA" to lashes. Furthermore, "strength-building COLLAGEN PRE-PEPTIDES and LONG-STRETCH POLYMERS wrap lashes in a flexible, lengthening film for NO FLAKE24 all-day wear technology." All sounds very exciting doesn't it?

With all the hype, I was dying to give this product a try, however, I was left feeling disappointed. The mascara does lengthen and lift my lashes and makes my eyes appear more open...but thats about it! It's staying power is good, I was pleased to notice that the product stays put all day and doesn't flake off but I was really expecting more from such a hyped up product.

I mean, the mascara isn't bad, but it doesn't "wow" me-and I definitely feel it's not worth £10.50. I did notice however, If I curl my lashes before and after applying this product, they do appear significantly longer and lifted.

All in all, this product is OK, but i'm unsure if I will be repurchasing. If I had to rate it, I'd give this mascara a 6/10...maybe I should have just stuck to my beloved Maybelline "The Falsies"

Whats your favourite mascara, can anyone recommend a good one for when mine runs out?

Until next time,

♡MY MUST HAVE MIRACLE PRODUCT: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm♡

Clarins is usually a brand which I bypass when I'm in the House of Fraser or Debenhams beauty halls. I always thought it was more of a "mums brand", purely because my mum uses a lot of their products. My mum is the worst for buying luxury beauty items and then leaving them to fester untouched in her makeup hamper. Nothing irks me more than witnessing this time and time again, so when I saw this little gleaming white bottle sitting perfectly on top of all the junk in her hamper, I decided to take it upon myself to give it a new home...and i'm SO glad I did (sorry mum!)

Clarins describes this product as "The ultimate pick-me-up for tired, stressed skin" They go on to say that their best-selling radiance booster helps
"eliminate signs of fatigue in a flash! Instantly moisturises, brightens and tightens facial contours so skin looks rested and relaxed."
The beauty of this product is that it can be used as a primer under your makeup, or as an intense moisturising mask.

This product is my new holy grail-It does exactly what it says on the tin. As soon as I apply it, my skin feels instantly moisturised and any dry patches I may have are eliminated. The glow it gives my skin after I put on my foundation is incredible and just after a week of using this product, my skin without any makeup looked noticeably brighter and healthier.

Furthermore, this product is full of all sorts of exciting ingredients: extracts of olive and witch hazel are said to minimize signs of fatigue and fine lines, and plant extracts smooth and tighten the skin. Lastly, "Bisabolol" (not quite sure what this is) soothes, softens, and helps restore skin's youthful glow...I could ramble on about how amazing this product is for hours!

When the tube runs out I will definitely be repurchasing it (with my own money this time!) So thanks mum for introducing me to the beauty of Clarins, next time I won't be so quick to judge them as a brand!

Until next time

♡PAYDAY WISHLIST♡

So yesterday I woke up to the wonderful news that I finally have a job! Say hello to Kurt Geiger's newest employee! I am absolutely over the moon!! Within seconds of finding out I will be earning my own money again, I was straight over to my laptop, looking up all of the pretty things i'm going to treat myself to come payday! I don't know how much i'm expecting to be paid here...I think i've built my expectations of how much I'm actually going to be making a little high, so maybe this wishlist will have to span over a few paydays...

♡REVIEW: Bourjous Healthy Mix Serum♡

I always get excited when my foundation runs out because it's the perfect excuse to try a new one. So far, i've yet to find the perfect foundation, i've tried everything from MAC and Laura Mercier to Maybelline and Rimmel. Before my bottle ran out, I did in fact swear by Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation, it was light, with buildable coverage and didn't clog my skin. But being a beauty junkie, I can't just stick to one product all my life so as I was nearing the end of the bottle, I was itching to try a new one!

After hours scrolling through beauty blogs, and youtubing reviews of drug store foundations, one product kept popping up, which is the one that I ended up purchasing-Bourjous Healthy Mix Serum. Bourjous have various versions of this foundation: the original healthy mix, the new healthy mix, and the healthy mix serum. I went for the serum because it intrigued me, made from a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula, bourjous claims that imperfections are erased, signs of fatigued are smoothed and skin's radiance is boosted for up to 16hrs. The fact that it is also described as a gel foundation intrigued me further so off I went to boots to pick up a bottle.

The foundation itself is lovely. It glides on easily leaving the skin with a beautiful glow, however, if you have oily prone skin, it may make you look shiny-but nothing a little powder can't fix. The coverage is very light, but buildable so if you prefer a thick, heavy duty foundation, this product won't be for you. I like it because I hate feeling like i'm wearing a mask when I put my foundation on and I hate products that make my face look caked.

The dewy finish of this foundation makes my skin look awake and wonderfully healthy however it lasts no where near 16 hours and I do have to keep touching it up during the day.

Overall, i'd give this product a 7/10. It gives my skin a beautiful finish but can sometimes make me look shiny, and it's staying power isn't as good as it makes out to be. But its still a good product and i'll definitely continue using it.

Has anyone tried any of the other versions of the healthy mix foundation? Do they differ from the serum? Let me know :)

Cambridge//London//One Direction Madness

I've never been to Cambridge before so when my friend Anna, who lives there for college, invited me down to stay for a few days, I jumped at the chance! As soon as she mentioned that we could take the train into London while I was down and spend a night there too, my flights were booked in an instant. Being the biggest One Direction fangirl on the planet, I happened to know that they would be playing a show at the O2 arena the exact date that we would be in London...it was meant to be! After managing to get our hands on some last minute tickets, everything was booked up and my trip was shaping up very nicely!
Just three short weeks later, I hopped on a 6am flight down to Stansted and then took the train into Cambridge where I found Anna waiting for me at the station with open arms. We then headed back to her flat where I dumped my case and took a quick nap before catching the train to London.
Me being an absolute pro at working the underground, I managed to get us to our hotel in plenty of time for a quick visit to the flagship Topshop on Oxford Street before having to leave for the concert.

Arriving at the O2 was MADNESS-it was literally One Direction City...and I loved it. Upon making our way to the entrance, I spotted one of my favourite Youtubers, Tanya Burr and her fiancee (who also makes videos) Jim Chapman. Being an avid watcher, subscriber and fangirl of both these youtube stars, I found myself yelling their names to try and get their attention. If this situation wasn't embarrassing enough, seconds before noticing them, I spilt my bottle of water all down myself so my face, clothes, everything was dripping! However, aside from all of my personal embarrassment, they were nice enough to come over and have a chat with me and stop for pictures.

In hindsight, I wish I could have thought of something better to say that "oh my god I love your videos I watch them everyday i'm a huge fan" but I was flustered and wet and too excited at the prospect of seeing One Direction, that those were the only words that came out of my mouth!

Speaking of One Direction, they were just fabulous, I didn't sit down once for the duration of the concert and loudly sang every lyric to every song and jumped around for the whole evening. If Niall waving at us wasn't enough, it turns out being two of the select few over 14 amidst 20,000 screaming teenies, has its perks as when they sang their cover of Teenage Dirtbag, being the only two that knew all the words caught the attention of the film crew (who were there filming for One Directions 3D movie) and so they came up, pulled us out of the crowd and filmed us for the whole song! Brilliant!

Day 2 in London involved lots and lots of sightseeing and of course...shopping! We visited Tower Bridge, The Shard, the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Palace of Westminster and Piccadilly circus. After all that, we headed back to the O2 to take a trip to 1D world which was just an explosion of excitement on my part and can pretty much be summed up by this picture...

After that, we headed back to Oxford Street for some final hours of shopping before catching the train back to Cambridge.
The next two days involved lazing in bed, watching movies and sightseeing around Cambridge, which is just beautiful, before flying back to Scotland
late Sunday night.

Thank you sooooo much Anna for letting me come stay with you, no doubt i'll be back very soon and we can do it all again!

Until next time,
