♡DIY: Christmas Decoration Ideas♡

Christmas is my FAVOURITE time of the year and yes, I am that girl who always wants to start decorating and getting into the Christmas spirit ridiculously early!! Last week, our flat caught the craft bug, we've been busy bee's making and creating our own Christmas decorations! We got most of our ideas from Bethany Mota's "roomspiration" video, although we put our own little twist on each of the decorations.

Something as simple as changing your bedding can make a HUGE difference to your room and definitely gives it more of a festive feel. I switched up my regular pink floral bedding with this red and navy fairisle print set from Primark (£16). The reindeer throw (£5) and the red and white pillows (£7/£3) were also from Primark. I think this is a great, easy, inexpensive way to give your room a more Christmassy feel!

Accessories such as fairy lights and candles can also add that little something extra to your room. I picked up these white fairy lights from Primark for £3, and most of the candles I have in my room are from the Yankee Christmas collection…DIVINE!! Lastly, I placed some miniature baubles on my bedside table which I picked up from my local craft store for £7 (I think!) just because I thought it looked cute and Christmassy!

The first thing we decided to "make" were these super adorable Christmas jars. Again, really easy, really cheap. Everything we bought to make these were picked up from our local craft store. All you need is a clear glass jar, and then any christmassy type garland decorations to fill it! We opted for gold leaves, sparkly red berries, pine needles glittery stars and fake snow. Chuck 'em all in your jar, give it a shake, pop the lid on, tie a bow around it et voila! You're done! How easy was that?!

We also made some Christmas themed frames. All you need is a deep box frame, felt lettering, Christmas paper and Christmas decorations to fill your frame with. Open up the frame, glue the christmas paper to the inside back panel of the frame, place the decorations of your choice on the inside of the glass, put the frame back together and then stick a phrase of your choice on the front of the glass with the lettering. And thats it! Super simple but really effective!

So those are my ideas to spice up your room for Christmas. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you try out any of these tips, be sure to let me know how you get on!

♡ Photoshoot Fun Part II♡

So last weekend was super fun because I got to take a trip down to edinburgh with Fiona and Claire to help the second year fashion management students with their magazine shoot. It's crazy to think its been a whole year since we were making our magazine! My time at uni is going so quickly I feel that if I blink, it'll already be over!

The shoot was so much fun! I spent most of the day in a beret and glasses, running around the capital (and changing outfits in the toilets of numerous cafes!) while Fiona was snapping pictures. Granted we got some funny looks, it was worth it because of the fun we had! We also got to shoot in the most gorgeous flat i've ever seen, it had a library in it…A LIBRARY! It was a long day but I think Claire got the shots she wanted for the magazine, so a success all round really! Hopefully i'll get my hands on some of the images soon to show you!

Hope you're all having a fantastic week,

♡MY HOLY GRAIL BEAUTY PRODUCT♡

(foundation only)
(blush and highlighter added)

HOL-Y-CR-AP LADIES LISTEN UP! This is a beauty revelation you are not going to want to miss!

Around a week or so ago I popped into Boots to pick up some makeup wipes and, as usual, I got distracted and ended up having a wander up and down the makeup aisles. I usually refrain from going over to the  "high end" makeup section as I am weak, the girls are persuasive, and I end up spending a fortune! But I noticed an unmanned Benefit counter so decided to go over and have a look myself. At first I thought about treating myself to a new bronzer, but then remembered a girl from work telling me how amazing their Watts Up! highlighter is - and as soon as she mentioned it's a favourite of celebs such as Millie MacKintosh, I knew I had to get my hands on it!

Watts Up! (£24.50) is a champagne hued cream-to-powder highlighter that’s designed to work on all complexions. Now, i've tried many highlighters over the years but NOTHING compares to this one! It glides on effortlessly and is so easy to blend thanks to the little domed sponge that comes on the opposite end of the stick. It sits well over makeup, not looking thick or cakey, as well as looking great on bare skin. The glow this product gives to your face is unbelievable - it just adds that little something extra that you think your face is missing but can never figure out what! You can see from the swatches above how nicely it sits on the cheekbones without making the underneath makeup separate and look "bitty" on the skin (like I find High Beam can do)

I could rave about this product for hours on end, definitely a 10/10 and my new makeup staple which will be taken with me wherever I go!
